APPLE fans have been left a little underwhelmed after the world's richest company didn't reveal the new gadget they were hoping for.
Reports suggested that three fresh iPads were set to be unveiled.
An upgraded iPad Air and iPad Mini, as well as the standard iPad, were tipped to land on Tuesday.
Instead, Apple announced an all-new Pencil device.
The most attractive thing about it is the lower price tag compared to previous models, coming in at £79 / $79.
However, it comes with some sacrifices, such as no pressure sensitivity.

The new Apple Pencil sits in the range between the first generation and second generation models, which some say creates confusion about the product line-up.
"This new #Apple Pencil is awful!" one commented.
"Why would Apple release a product that is inferior to the yesteryear version?"
Another added: "Does Apple really expect us to pay $79 for a stylus without pressure sensitivity?

"It just adds more confusion to an already complex lineup of iPad and Apple Pencil."
Much like the iPhone 15, the new Apple Pencil has jumped to USB-C charging.
A slick sliding cap reveals the USB-C port.
It can also stick to the side edge of your iPad magnetically.
Aside from lack of pressure sensitivity, it can't wirelessly pair and charge, nor does it support double tap to change tools.
The new model goes on sale at the beginning of November.
