I found a vintage car graveyard behind an abandoned house – it filled me with nostalgia | The Sun

AN URBAN explorer has told how he was filled with nostalgia after finding a vintage car graveyard behind an abandoned house.

Sean Piper discovered a treasure trove of classic cars hidden in the back garden of a home in Chester, Cheshire.

Sean, from Kent, posted a clip to TikTok to share the find, which included motors from the '70s and '80s, with his followers.

They had seemingly been left to rot for more than a decade.

He told NeedToKnow: "We knew of an abandoned house and went to explore it, when we got there we couldn’t get in the house.

"The farm was incredibly dilapidated and neglected.

"After the excitement wore off it occurred to us just how sad it is, that all of these once-loved classics, are just left rotting and forgotten about In the old barns."

Sean compared the experience to "walking through a motor museum" and speculated that some of the vehicles would likely be worth quite a substantial sum if properly restored.

The collection included BMWs, Reliants, Hondas and a Land Rover.

It also boasted a number of more unique vehicles, including several fire engines.

The explorer claimed that these had previously been used by an airport but were subsequently decommissioned and sold privately.

He added: "The owner of the farm already had a large car collection and purchased the fire engines to be a part of that.

"The house, farm building, and vehicles have all been abandoned for over a decade."

The farm itself is believed to have been built at some point in the 19th Century.

Social media commenters shared their sadness at the cars being left behind.

One wrote: "Breaks my heart that all this is just left."

Another added: "Some of those cars would be worth a mint now."

And a third said: "Been here myself with a couple of pals, such a shame, the cars could be saved man."
