AN expert mechanic has shared a secret he says car salesmen don't want people to know.
Scotty Kilmer, who has been in the motors game for more than five decades, said the tip could save car hunters thousands of pounds.
The mechanic claimed that waiting until the end of the month to buy a new vehicle from a yard could help you barter a salesman down.
He said it could make around £2,000 difference.
Scotty said the salesmen could drop the price tag because they don't own the cars – they set costs based on how much the owe the banks.
He revealed the money saving tip on Tiktok.

In the clip the mechanic said: "Here's something you might not know about buying new cars – the dealers don't actually own them.
"They're just like you, they have to pay monthly notes on the cars and they borrow the money from a bank.
"Many salesman have quotas and by the end of the month they have to sell a certain amount of cars and if they don't they can get the boot.
"So they'll sell at the end of month better deals just to meet them.
