World’s most expensive new car is £25M Rolls-Royce Droptail convertible that comes with champagne chest | The Sun

THE world's most expensive new car is a £25m Rolls-Royce Droptail convertible that comes with a champagne chest.

The car giant has just released its exclusive motor after five years in the making.

Made for a mystery female buyer, the one-of-a-kind beast has two doors and only two seats – specifically designed for the husband and wife who splashed millions on it.

The couple, who have been described as "super rich", come from an art-loving champagne and fashion dynasty in France.

Their love for the bubbly beverage saw them include a champagne chest and cooler to carry their bottles and glasses, in their design.

An electro-chromatic glass roof section also means at the press of a button it can go darker or stay clear.

Named the La Rose Noire, it's inspired by the velvet-like Black Baccara Rose which is also from France as a subtle nod to their roots.

The car's red and black exterior matches the petals on the flower and is said to represent romance, according to Rolls-Royce.

Inside, complex wood work is made up of 1,603 individual, intricate and hand-made triangular pieces representing the rose petals.

It is described by Rolls-Royce as "a romantic celebration of the couple who created it".

On the dash, there is also a removeable luxury timepiece from luxury Swiss firm Audemars Piguet.

The sleek and smart vehicle is finished off with the Rolls-Royce badge having the owner's signature on the back.

It was specifically kept off until she could make her mark.

The motor was presented to the client and her family at a private party near Pebble Beach, California, on Saturday night during Monterey Car Week.

Manufacturers say it is one of four Droptails that will be produced over the coming years.

It is estimated to accelerate up to 62mph in just five seconds.

And top speeds include 155mph.

Quite lengthy for a motor, it is 5.3metres long, 2metres wide and 1.5metres high.
